College of International Studiesislocated in the new campus (main campus) of Hunan University of Technology(hereinafter referred to as HUT). Its main duties are to cooperate with foreign universities in the form of education, carry out educational exchanges and cooperation, jointly develop training plans, teaching plans and student management modes, so as to introduce advanced foreign resources and enhance the quality of education in HUT.It is specifically responsible for the implementation and management of sino-foreign educational cooperation and international exchange programs.
In 2009, four cooperative specialist programs of higher education cooperated by our university and the University of Worcester (hereinafter referred to as UW) in the United Kingdom granted the permission by the Ministry of Education to enroll students of Artistic Designing, Computer Applied Technology, Marketing and Accounting. The undergraduate education program of Visual Communication Design, a collaboration between our university and New Zealand's Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology(hereinafter referred to as NMIT), granted the permission by the Ministry of Education to enroll students in 2013.
At present, the total number of students in College of International Studies is 948, with 35 classes. Among which 12 undergraduate classes are composed of 280 students and 23 specialized classes are composed of 668 students.
The introduction of Sino-foreign cooperative programs are introduced as follows:
Ⅰ.China-New Zealand (NMIT) Cooperative Undergraduate Education Program
Project Name: Undergraduate Education Project for Visual Communication Design co-operated by HUT and NMIT in New Zealand（MOE43NZ2A20131491N）
Training Objective: The training plans of this major are jointly developed by HUT and NMIT, in order to cultivate high-quality, versatile, and application-oriented professionals with a spirit of innovation and cooperation and strong professional adaptability who meet the needs of social and economic development, master design theory of visual communication, basic knowledge and basic skills and integrate diverse and advanced cultures of the East and the West.
Length of Schooling: 4 years（Model A: learn in China for 3 years and learn abroad for 1 year; Model B: learn in China for 4 years）
Diploma and Degree: Students who learn in China for 3 years and were admitted into NMIT would gain graduation certification and diploma both from NMIT and HUT after finishing all the courses. Students who learn in China for 4 years and finish all the courses would grant graduation certification and diploma only from HUT.
Students learn in China for 3 years and meet the NMIT’s admission, could enter the school in the 4thyear. Those who pass the test both receive a degree certificate from NMIT and a diploma and bachelor's degree from HUT.
Ⅱ.China-UK (WU) Cooperative Specialized Education Program
Length of Schooling:3 years(learn in China for 3 years and graduate with associate’s degree; or students could learn abroad to get a degree if they were admitted to WU.)
Diploma and Degree: Students learn in China for 3 years could grant an associate’s degree from HUT and a Higher National Diploma from UK; students who were admitted to foreign university and could grant a degree certificate from the university when they graduate.

We committed to cultivate quality international professionals with systematic specialized knowledge and skills who can independently finish art design in practice and stay current with industrial trends at home and abroad.
B. Project Name: Specialized Education Program for Marketing Co-operated by HUT and WU in UK（PDE43GB3A20090272N）
Training Objective: The training plans of this major are jointly developed by HUT and WU. We committed to cultivate quality bilingual professionals with strong marketing practice ability and basic theory of management, economics and modern marketing, marketing qualitative and quantitative analysis method, who have strong interpersonal skills and ability to analyze and solve the problem of marketing, are familiar with domestic and international marketing practices and rules, understand western advanced marketing ideas, and can engage in the Enterprise international marketing business and marketing management of industry.
C.Project Name: Specialized Education Program for Accounting co-operated by HUT and WU in UK（PDE43GB3A20090273N）
Training Objective: The training plans of this major are jointly developed by HUT and WU. We committed to develop quality international professionals who understand the business operation process and management, are familiar with the domestic and international accounting standards, can use computer to collect, process and provide accounting information, and have the ability of capital operation management and cost management.
